Op. Dr. Yakup Ozan Türkmenoğlu completed his medical education at Pamukkale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi. Following his graduation, he worked in family medicine and as the physician in charge of the community health centre in Van Özalp, and subsequently completed his specialty training at the Neurosurgery Clinic of Pamukkale Üniversitesi.

During and after his specialty training, he gained extensive clinical experience in brain, spinal and peripheral nerve surgery. Between 2020 and 2023 he worked at Denizli Servergazi Devlet Hastanesi, and since 2023 he has been working as a Neurosurgery Specialist at Denizli Devlet Hastanesi.

Clinical Interests and Surgical Approaches

His professional practice covers degenerative spinal diseases, lumbar and cervical disc herniation, spinal stenosis, traumatic spinal injuries, spinal tumours and metastases, hydrocephalus, Chiari malformations, brain tumours, cerebrovascular diseases, epilepsy surgery and peripheral nerve disorders.

In his work, which focuses particularly on spinal surgery, he has experience in laminoplasty, kyphoplasty, radiofrequency ablation for vertebral metastases, endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV) and advanced spinal surgery techniques.

Academic and Professional Development

Op. Dr. Yakup Ozan Türkmenoğlu has attended numerous national and international congresses, courses and symposia, and has completed advanced training programmes within the Türk Nöroşirürji Derneği (TND) and the Spinal ve Periferik Sinir Cerrahisi Çalışma Grubu.

The Dr. Mehmet Zileli İleri Spinal Cerrahi Kursları, the Türk Omurga Kongreleri, the WFNS World Congress of Neurosurgery and training in paediatric neurosurgery have played an important role in his professional development.
